Financial Reporting & Interpretation

Financial reports that explain what happened, what it means, and what to do next.

Beyond the standard statements

Clean books are only useful if you can read them. Alongside your balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement, we deliver a monthly reporting package built around the metrics that matter for your industry.

  • Budget vs. actual with variance commentary
  • Gross margin by product, project, or service line
  • 13-week cash flow forecast
  • Job costing and WIP schedules for contractors
  • Custom KPI dashboards in Fathom or LiveFlow

Interpretation: what the numbers mean for your business

A balance sheet on its own doesn't tell you whether you can afford a new hire or whether a customer is quietly becoming a problem. Every reporting package comes with a written interpretation from your bookkeeper that translates the statements into business terms:

  • Why revenue, margin, or cash moved this month, in one or two paragraphs
  • Which trends deserve attention now versus in a quarter
  • How your key ratios compare to last year and to your industry
  • Where the numbers point for pricing, hiring, spending, or collections
  • Questions we'd raise with your CPA, lender, or partners

Accuracy and completeness, verified

Interpretation is only useful when the underlying numbers are right. Before any report reaches you, it passes a documented review: every account reconciled to its statement, no uncategorized or duplicated transactions, revenue and expenses recorded in the correct period, and balance sheet accounts supported by schedules. A senior bookkeeper signs off on the close and the report notes anything still outstanding.

Quarterly review calls

Every quarter we walk through your numbers together, flag trends early, and prepare you for conversations with lenders, investors, or your tax advisor.
